After speaking with President Trump over the weekend, Senator Lindsey Graham came away with a significantly different perspective.
“We are not abandoning the Kurds.”
It’s all too common in Washington for people to get an idea in their heads and fail to stop and consider all the ramifications, the ins and outs, a SWOT analysis, the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats – ANY kind of actual analysis.
“I’m increasingly optimistic this could turn out very well,” Graham told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo. “I am increasingly optimistic that we can have some historic solutions in Syria that have eluded us for years, if we play our cards right.”
“Strength of an Idea” has lead to more failures in both business and politics than any other. One absolutely must objectively and soberly evaluate each situation.
It’s why we elect people rather than develop checklists for government bureaucrats to mindlessly follow.
Even in highly regimented endeavors, like aviation, which lend themselves handily to checklists, we retain pilots in the cockpit because there arise far too many situations which checklists, or computers, simply cannot solve. All too often, you absolutely must have a rational, intelligent, experienced, flexible, and innovative human being at the helm.
That’s what we have with President Trump, and I’m very glad he and Senator Lindsey Graham had the opportunity to discuss the issue over the weekend.
“Critics, including Graham, had said Trump effectively caved to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Remove Graham from the list of critics. “I blame Erdogan for the invasion, not Trump,” he said. “The big thing for me is the oil fields,” Graham added. “President Trump is thinking outside the box. I was so impressed with his thinking about the oil. Not only are we going to deny the oil fields falling into Iranian hands, I believe we’re on the verge of a joint venture between us and the Syrian Democratic Forces, who helped destroy ISIS and keep them destroyed, to modernize the oil fields and make sure they get the revenue, not the Iranians, not Assad.”
Again, absolutely OUTSTANDING. Yet another reason why We the People elected Donald J. Trump as President and NOT Hillary Clinton.
