Wow. I’ve only been saying this for about 16 years, especially in conjunction with sunspots. Turns out supernovae have the same effect:
“New research from the Technical University of Denmark has found that supernovae release ions which rain down through Earth’s atmosphere seeding clouds. As more clouds form, the climate cools, which can have a major impact on the long term weather.”

Less sunlight means less CO2 is converted to O2 and sugar via photosynthesis, too, result in CO2 increases in our atmosphere.
