SARS-CoV-2 was NOT engineered. Here’s how and why we know it.

It’s complete and utter nonsense. Those who’re propagating the conspiracy theory are about as bright as a bunch of Jim Jones wannabees slurping up the cool-aide.

Bill O’Reilly himself recently puked up the same groundless, baseless conjecture. Meanwhile, the following treatise is firmly entrenched in verifiable scientific fact, the links to which is at the bottom.

Interesting theory. I like Bill O’Reilly, too, but the problem with his theory is that it doesn’t take a rocket scientist, but does take a genetic engineer, to examine the SARS-CoV-2 genome, fully sequence it, and examine it’s familial relations and ancestry to determine where and even from whence it came.

Not only can we do this these days, but so can the the other 50 or so nations on Earth who have this technology, and as this has impacted most of them within the same order of magnitude of population percentages for contraction and deaths, they have indeed sliced and diced the SARS-CoV-2 genome back to its ancestral roots, not to mention ruling out beyond any shadow of any doubt that it was in any way, shape, manner or form “engineered.

In fact, they have clearly and undeniably identified the parents, siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, and many other relatives of SARS-CoV-2.

They know EXACTLY where it DID come from as well as where it did NOT come from.

It did not come from a Chinese bio-engineering lab.

“By comparing the available genome sequence data for known coronavirus strains, we can firmly determine that SARS-CoV-2 originated through natural processes,” said Kristian Andersen, PhD, an associate professor of immunology and microbiology at Scripps Research and corresponding author on the paper.

In addition to Andersen, authors on the paper, “The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2,” include Robert F. Garry, of Tulane University; Edward Holmes, of the University of Sydney; Andrew Rambaut, of University of Edinburgh; W. Ian Lipkin, of Columbia University.

The virus has been sequenced many times by many countries. The origin has been confirmed as originating from a natural coronavirus strain, and all has also confirmed that China’s original sequencing, which it shared with the world in early January, was authentic.

No one, anywhere, possesses the genetic technology to modify something as complicated as a virus without it being spotted. It’s like mounting a World War II era searchlight on a Porche to replace a headlight by first ripping out the engine, drive train, and removing the entire body. You wind up with a light on wheels, all right, but it’s It stands out. It’s HUGELY noticeable.

But our ability to sequence the entire genome, however, is different. The resulting phylogeny tells us everything we need to know.

Think if it like a man tasked with peeling a banana using a Saturn V rocket. He can inspect the banana down to it’s minutia, but when it comes to actually peeling it, his tools are just way too large. Extremely clumsy, at best. He might have to try a thousand times to peel that banana using a Saturn V rock, but one day, after a thousand smashed bananas, he finally succeeds. The banana is still mostly smashed — the telltale result of human tampering, but at least it’s peeled.

The same goes for genetic engineering. It leaves a trails. Great, big, whoppingly visible trails.

SARS-CoV-2 not only has no trails, but it’s entire family has also been mapped and it’s just as normal and natural an offspring as any of them.

As much as I like Bill O’Reilly, he’s no geneticist. He was a jock, playing football, a journalist, an honors student who majored in history, receiving his BA in history in 1971, a semi-professional baseball player who returned to academia to earn an MA broadcast journalism, a reporter, and later, went back for a second masters in public administration.

So, he certainly knows politics.

Just as certainly, however, he doesn’t know biology, much less genetics.

His article, while interesting conjecture, is just that — conjecture, and it’s been proven wrong by the finest independent apolitical minds across more than fifty countries around the world.

Here’s one informative article on this, based on reality:
