When I grew up ,American education was just fine. I know so many things, and how to do so many things more than people just twenty years my junior, it’s not even funny. Work ethic? Better, stronger. Yet they get the jobs, and I do not. WHY?

Should younger adults be hired? Absolutely! However, consideration needs to be given to those of us who built the systems in the first place. We didn’t have certificates galore when we built those systems. We simply saw a need, learned the software, and built the solution. As of last check, in September, 2012, the information systems I designed, developed, tested, and implemented in my last four assignments as an additional duty are STILL being used because of one thing: THEY WORK. I read the manuals. I knew what I was doing. I thoroughly investigated the need, interviewing all players, both individually as well as en masse, designed and implemented a solution, then tested and refined it in situ.
