Artists vs Scientists – A Matter of Degrees

I recently read that Debra Messing, 47, and a person with some serious degrees, said, “You know, I’m a public person and if I put myself out on a platform like Twitter, I’m basically saying you’re allowed to express your opinion about me or my position politically, socially, whatever, but that does not extend to children. If she’s experiencing [shaming], then I support her.” “

I cannot begin to tell you how much I, as a parent, agree with Debra’s “hands-off” attitude towards our children.  In fact, as all good federal laws should always be geared towards protecting We the People, there ought to be a federal law against any mention of a person’s children without express written consent in any medium, including but not limited to written (handwriting, print, and press), audio (to numerous to mention by name), visual (again, to numerous to mention by name), tactile (Braille), or ANY other media, including telepathy (should it ever be proven to be true).  There are indeed some laws to that extent, but we don’t need more.  What we need are effective and all-encompassing i.e. zero loopholes.

Again, while looking into this matter, I found it refreshing that one of my favorite actresses in successes like Prey, The Mysteries of Laura, and Will & Grace, shares the same parental concerns over our family and friends.

Unfortunately, she recently twittered “she’s not afraid to speak out in support of Hillary Clinton,” apparently without any knowledge or acceptance of Hillary Clinton’s fifty-year history of so flagrantly violating the law that no law-enforcement agency in this country would ever endorse her from a collective per-agent point of view.  Thus, despite her correct stance on protecting the privacy of our children, she remains a blithering idiot, almost certainly due to willful ignorance, when it comes to “the state of our world” in general, and Hillary Clinton in specific.

This brings up the obvious question as to the differences between degrees in arts and degrees in science.  The reason I put the issue in these terms involves the fact that she and I both have had successful careers, we both have advanced degrees, and we both have graduated at the top of our classes.  Although I acted in a play in sixth grade, my interest in the arts is largely relegated to passive observation.  Yes, I have won a couple of very minor awards in photography, both on a local level.  I have also won several not-so-minor awards in writing, at both state and national levels, and in such ways that not merely won the award, but blew the competition to smithereens, according to the awarding authority (although in different terms i.e. ‘he so greatly surpassed not only his previous entry but that of all other entries that…’)

“During her high school years, [Debra Messing] acted and sang in a number of high school productions at East Greenwich High School…” While that’s excellent preparation for a role in inciting the audience’s imagination in both fiction and historical fact (Daniel Day Lewis’ performance in Lincoln comes to mind), it’s not exactly a stellar preparation for understanding all the ins and outs of the real world i.e. law, human resource management, leadership, accounting, finance, economics, research and statistics, operations management, marketing, and strategic planning, war, history, and international relations.

She achieved a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University in Liberal Arts, with “at least three-quarters of her courses not theater-related” by request of her parents. Well, good for them!  Even so, a liberal arts degree touches on at least some basic math and science issues, with elements of history, government, and political “science.” However, it doesn’t get into the meat of anything like accounting and finance, much less engineering and physics.  Degrees are stamped with “bachelor of science” for a reason.   They do not prepare you for entertaining the world.  They DO, however, help prepare you for understanding it in a comprehensive manner capable of changing things for the better.  Still, Messing graduated summa cum laude from her undergraduate program, the same as I did from my latest masters of science program.  So, with that in mind, we continue:

Messing gained admission to the elite Graduate Acting Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts which accepts about 15 new students annually. She earned a Master of Fine Arts after three years.”  She did not, however, graduate with honors from her masters program, at least from what I can ascertain.  Regardless, she did an absolutely outstanding job of being accepted and graduating from a top Fine Arts school, the New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, “which accepts about 15 new students annually.”

That’s saying something!  Dang!  Even if she graduated summa cum laude in her bachelor’s program, that’s not an automatic in with Tisch, so graduating with an MFA from Tisch definitely proves her mettle in the world of fine arts.

However, it’s still an MFA, “a creative degree usually awarded as a terminal degree in visual arts, creative writing, graphic design, photography, filmmaking, dance, theatre, other performing arts—or in some cases, theatre management or arts administration. Coursework is primarily of an applied or performing nature with the program often culminating in a major work or performance.”

It is by no means worse than a Master of Science. It is, however, vastly different, and the two degrees focus on entirely differently realms.

A Master of Science focuses on measurable, verifiable data, facts, and rigorous analysis using widely proven and accepted principles in various fields of study, while opening the door wide to study of phenomena not yet well understood, or even known.

A Master of Arts, on the other hand, focuses on manipulating the wide variety of communicative channels to evoke either an emotional response from an audience.  As with the Master of Science, there is always room to push the boundaries of the art, frontiers in the many ways creativity is communicated to an audience.

Put another way…

Masters of Science: After communicating the nature of the investigative query, along with the tools, techniques, and procedures thereof, the author presents his or her findings in a manner consistent with well-known and well-established parameters.  If such a foundation does not yet exist with respect to the issue at hand, the graduate pushes on into the PhD world, properly crafting a study designed to fully examine the issue within the bounds of available resources, obtaining the requisite support and funding, proceeding on the appropriate course of study, and concluding said study within the scope of of the project or program while having fully formulated a detailed and well-articulated paper for review by peers, an executive summary for review by those who commissioned the study and those with a vested interest.  Following substantiation, the investigator will have prepared one or more papers for mass dissemination, written so as to explain issues in a manner not readily discernible to an individual not possessing the requisite background in math, science, or both.

As for a Masters of Arts degree, I do not have one, so I will not attempt to explain it’s approach for the enlightenment of humankind.

Bottom line, while Debra Messing’s degrees, honors level, skills, and intelligence make her exceptionally well-qualified for the focus of her degree — entertainment — they do not readily translate into an ability to understand, much less recommend, the way a government or its people should run a country. In fact, I continually find myself at odds with otherwise very bright individuals who nevertheless possess sub-qualifying levels of both education and experience in the disciplines previously mentioned about five paragraphs up. What I find is that these bright, creative people wind up attempting to reinvent the wheel in various idealistic ways simply because they do not possess either the education or the experience to understand why those of us who do possess both the education and experience abandoned that tack long ago.

A for effort, to be sure.  However, Job’s Rule applies:

Then Job replied to the Lord:  “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’
Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.
“You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak;
I will question you, and you shall answer me.’
My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.
Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”

Hooray for Coach Joe Kennedy!

In yet another blitheringly idiotic attempt to squash the First Amendment’s protections for the free exercise of religion, the Bremerteron School District told a coach he was not allowed to pray…

…AFTER THE END OF THE GAME.

Thankfully, a good, savvy lawyer had the presence of mind to note, “It is a violation of the First Amendment, and other federal Coach Joelaws, to prohibit Coach Joe from going out on the field and praying after the end of the game.”

ABSOLUTELY.

We need to take our country back from ignorant people like Ken Aulgur who said, “It’s a downer to my daughter who’s one of the cheerleaders here, ’cause its not about the fun of Homecoming and the dance and everything else.”

Gee, Aulgur, THINK.  Your daughter wouldn’t HAVE a Homecoming dance “and everything else” if it weren’t for the coach joeprayer of righteous men and women who fought and died to establish and preserve your freedoms.  Prayer has been a VITAL component of the religious faith upon which this country was founded and maintained.  It’s at the base of all its freedoms, which YOU and your daughter enjoy to this very day.  Yet you ignorantly sit there and say, “It’s a downer.”

Really, Aulgur?  Here’s a thought:  YOU’RE a downer, literally, when you attempt to bring down the freedoms that make our country great.

Would you rather live in a faithless society where social strata, caste systems, and slavery is the norm?  Not I.  Where the right to a free trial is a myth, and the government can bust down your doors any time it wants?  Not I.  How much more of a downer would that be for you?

No thank you, Aulgur!  You’re one of the same class of sheep Hitler lead to the slaughter in Germany, the ones who went willingly.  NO WAY I’m going to sympathize with your brain-dead position that praying after the game is “going to the extreme.”

YOU’RE the extreme – blight, that is, on American principles and values.

This veteran will keep my FAITH, and I will continue to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.”  I will continue to back our First Amendment and the rest of the Bill of Rights.  They didn’t give us our freedoms.  God did that, which is one of the reasons WHY we pray, for Thanksgiving, not only for our freedoms, but for the fact that none of the boys were injured during the game.

The First Amendment does, however, protect our freedoms, including the free exercise of Joe’s religion right alongside your freedom of speech.  If you want to disparage Joe’s freedom to exercise his religion, I strongly suggest you start by giving up your own freedoms and SHUT THE HELL UP.  If you believe that’s not fair, well, you’re right.  It would not be fair.  Neither is it fair for you to keep blabbering your mouth on CNN while disparaging Coach Joe his own right to freely practice his religion as protected in the same amendment that protects your freedom of speech.

Who is Best at Running a Country? Patriots and Businessmen vs Lawyers and Career Politicians

When it comes to running a country well, you need two things:

Patriots:  These people have their priorities in order:  God, Country, and Family.  They also aren’t afraid to back down from a running the countryfight.  In fact, if you attack one or more of their priorities, a fight is exactly what you’ll get.  Unlike Demoncraps and Libturds (Democrats and Liberals), Patriots will not compromise on essential principles, nor are they in the game just for themselves.

Without Patriots, the United States of America would never have been created, nor would we have survived, much less thrived as a country.

Businessmen:  These folks understand the hard, cold realities of business, where companies don’t have the luxury of raising prices running the countrywithout competition (i.e. raising taxes) every time they need to cover their ineptitude.  Instead, they learn, often the hard way, to get it right.  In big business, you don’t just balance budgets. You’re always looking for ways to do things better, smarter, and cheaper, because that’s what it takes to stay in business and remain competitive with the ever-innovative competition.

Trump’s advantage over Hillary is two-fold:  First, he’s a LOT smarter than Obama, whereas Hillary is probably on par with Valerie JarrettObama.  Valerie Jarrett is just plain wrong on that point.  Obama is an idealistic imbecile.  The fact that Jarrett sees him as “brilliant” doesn’t say much about Jarrett.  Do we really need four years of the same?  Should we risk eight?  Yeah, I don’t think so!

Second, when Patriots and Businessmen run our country, we thrive. We prosper.  When Lawyers and Career Politicians run our country, they run it into the ground because they haven’t the slightest clue as to how to run a country.

running the country

Have you ever examined what’s on the curricula of most political science degrees?  This is the most common degree obtained by both lawyers and politicians before going to law school or entering politics.  It’s ridiculous!  It’s all but totally void of common business functions such economics, accounting, and finance, much less any technological aspect such as math, physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering.

Lacking the proper education, most lawyers and career politicians are clueless.  They know how to write law, but they don’t know running the countrywhat laws should be written.  They know how to politic their way up through the political system, but when it comes to making decisions that actually benefit society, they are literally without a clue, and are often driven by the ridiculous liberal propaganda, which is little more than a retread of the Communist Manifesto, itself craft by a blithering idiot and ignorant idealist named Marx who never once found any modicum of success in his own life.

That’s a valid source for how to run a country?  I think not!  Any historian could tell you that!

Sadly, not only do we have such lawyers and career politicians embedded throughout our government, but we also have far to running the countrymany ignorant voters who simply never learned why such policies are bad, no matter how good they sound.  As a result, these voters keep reelecting the blithering idiots back into office.

That’s no way to run a country, people.  Come on – wise up!

Do You Know Ed Mezvinsky?

He was born January 17, 1937, but you’re probably saying, “Who is Ed Mezvinsky?” and “Why should I care?”

Bear with me for a minute, as the answer has to do with Hillary Clinton’s run for the 2016 elections, and a great deal more.  The “more” part will boggle your mind.

Ed Mezvinsky is a former Democrat congressman who represented Iowa’s 1st congressional district in the United States Ed MezvinskyHouse of Representatives for two terms, from 1973 to 1977.  He sat on the House Judiciary Committee that decided the fate of Richard Nixon.

He was outspoken saying that Nixon was a crook and a disgrace to politics and the nation and should be impeached.

He and the Clintons were friends and very politically intertwined for many years.

Ed Mezvinsky had an affair with NBC News reporter Marjorie Sue Margolies and later married her after his wife divorced him.

In 1993, Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, then a freshman Democrat in Congress, cast the deciding vote that got President Bill Clinton’s controversial tax package through the House of Representatives.

In March 2001, Ed Mezvinsky was indicted and later pleaded guilty to 31 of 69 counts of bank fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud.  He had embezzled more than $10 million dollars from people via both a Ponzi scheme and the notorious Nigerian e-mail scams (yes, he’s “that guy”).  He was found guilty and sentenced to 80 months in federal prison.

After serving less than three-quarters of that time, he was released in April 2008.  He remains on federal probation.  To this day, he still owes $9.4 million in restitution to his victims.

About now you are saying, “So what!”

Well, this is Marc and Chelsea Mezvinsky.  Ed Mezvinsky is Chelsea Clinton’s father-in law.  Chelsea married his son.

Marc and Chelsea are in their early thirties and purchased a 10.5Chelsea Clinton million dollar NYC apartment (after being married in George Soros’ mansion).

Has anyone heard any mention of any of this in any of the media?  No?

Gee…  I wonder why…

If this guy was Jenna or Barbara Bush’s, or better yet, Sarah Palin’s daughter’s father-in-law, the news would be an everyday headline and every detail would be reported over and over.  The liberal rags, however, are owned by the same corrupted cabal to which the Clintons, the Mezvinskys, and Soros belongs.

People are already talking about Hillary as our next President, and there is a distinct possibly Chelsea will run in the future.  The Hillary Clintonheadlines are already proclaiming, “How Hillary Clinton won the 2014 midterms.”

Apparently, the cycle of the rich and corrupt never ends.

The Democrat’s ongoing scheme is simple:  Promise anything to the masses in order to keep being reelected, then abuse the power of their office to line their own pockets, the pockets of their friends, and the pockets of people and companies who funded their campaigns — at your expense.

Lying and corruption seem to make Democrat candidates more popular, yet Democrats who are repeatedly suckered into voting for them keep wondering when they’re going to get their slice of the pie.

The answer is, “Never, so long as you keep allowing yourself to be suckered in to voting for Democrats.”  If the Democrats have you on a hook, and want to keep you on that hook, the only only solution is to get off the hook.  Stop voting Democrat.

How I Voted in the 2014 Elections

“…a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” – Martin Luther King

The 2014 elections are by far the most important elections to date of this century.  Despite governmental reassurances to the contrary, America is tottering over the brink of economic collapse.  Vote wrong, and we most certainly will lose.  Vote right, and we might be able to haul her back from the edge.

As a registered Independent, I spent all afternoon Sunday reviewing not only the positions, but also the voting records of allMartin Luther King, Jr. 21 positions (42 candidates — half Republican, half Democrat) on my ballot. Given my “preaching” here on Facebook, I wanted to be absolutely certain I was electing the best candidate for each position, and not just “voting party line.”

I based my decisions mostly on their voting records. The criteria was simple: Had they supported and defended the Constitution,
voting records“the supreme Law of the Land,” as per their oaths of office? Or were they perverting our government by actions which undermined our Constitution and the rights and freedoms it recognizes and protects?

It was close in only 5 of the 21 open positions. The other 16 positions were slam-dunks.

In ALL cases, however, the records of the Republican candidates made it clear they stood for our rights and freedoms, while the records of the Democrat candidates made it clear they stood for bigger government at the EXPENSE of our rights and freedoms.

Sunday’s exercise was yet another of countless confirmations that the Democrat Party itself is no longer American, that it has been usurped by a mix of communists, fascists, socialists, muslims, opportunists and just plain idiots, to be used solely for the purpose of pulling the wool over the eyes of mostly lower to middle-class voters in order to remain in power, raise taxes, and siphon off a great deal of our hard-earned tax dollars into their own pockets and those of their friends.

To be fair, some Republicans are doing this, too, but I continually find they’re doing so to a far lesser extent.

Bottom line: I remain an Independent voter, yet cast all my votes towards the Republicans. My decisions were not based on the color of their party, but on the content of their character.

I’ll leave you with one last observation.  Five years of digging into what goes on behind the curtains in both parties have lead me to conclude what the Democrats say about the Republicans are largely lies, often made up on the spot, and that the elements in the following graphic are largely true:

Truth

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican, not a Democrat, and for many very good reasons which are even more sound today than they were back then.

We Have Met the Enemy — It Is US

Who or what is REALLY destroying the United States of America?

While Satan, whether literal or figurative, may be behind it all, the responsibility rests with each and every one of us.Satan

Satan may very well be the the author of deceit and the father of all lies, but he has no authority to act on his own. He can’t act unless we let him.

Americans have been deceived to the point where they’re no longer capable of distinguishing the difference between good and evil. We ignorantly vote for ever-greater handouts without realizing that’s like taking chunks out of the pillars of a church. It will eventually collapse. Republic of RomeRome became strong, at one point the mightiest nation on Earth, because it was founded as a Republic, a nation governed under the rule of law. Rome crumbled from within when its citizens allowed it to morph into a democracy, where the majority ruled, and then into socialism, whereupon everyone literally sucked the life blood out of it.

When people elect politicians who are deceived, if not outright evil, it’s only because the people themselves are deceived.

This is precisely why more than one Founding Father commented that our nation will not stand on its own, that it must be ruled in Constitution
strict adherence to our Constitution, and alongside people ruling
their own lives in accordance with the Bible. When morals are relative, they decay. When morals are based on an external and absolute standard, they persevere. Integrity can never be based on “that which you can get away with.” It must be based on the premise that no one can ever get away with anything.

Some people claim, “our government is allowing them to do it,” Lincolnwithout realizing WE are the government. As Lincoln said, we have a government “of the people, by the people, for the people.” Whatever failures happening in America today are a reflection of We the People.

Regardless of the role of satanic deception, We the People need to take responsibility for the condition of our nation. God has given us every tool we need to keep ourselves pure and unpolluted in this world. We strayed from the truth. We allowed ourselves to be deceived. BibleWe elected a mix of righteous people, idiots, and monsters to lead us. We are the ones who are piercing ourselves with many griefs.

When We the People get back to Godly fundamentals, God will be just, clearing the cobwebs from our eyes so that we can again see clearly what’s good, right, true, and just, as well as what’s not. At that point, we will stop electing idiots and monsters to lead us. We will no longer recognize corporations as “persons.” We will elect bright, well-educated, yet humble servants of God to lead us, people who know the meaning of the words “stewardship,” “duty,” and “honor,” and who put rescuing hostages above a fundraiser, and the running of our country above golf games and vacations.

We have met the enemy.  It is us.

What is Love?

What is love?  The popular song follows with “Baby don’t hurt me,” indicating the love is the opposite of being hurt.  It defines love as a feeling.  If something feels good, it might be love.  If it feels bad, it can’t be love.

There’s already a term for that, and it’s called “feelings.”  But feelings aren’t love, and love isn’t feelings.  By pairing the two, the world denigrates love to nothing more than the parts of our brains which influence how we feel.

That’s not love.  But what is love?

Agape (Godly love) often feels wonderful, but it sometimes doesn’t feel good at all. The thing of it is, Agape has nothing to do with feelings and everything to do with one’s long-term physical and spiritual well-being. Whatever good feelings come from Agape love are the by-product of a righteous life. Jesus summed up all the commands of the Old Testament into: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” and “Love your neighbor as yourself,” summarizing, “There is no commandment greater than these” (Mark 12:30-31).

Sadly, the world has corrupted the meaning of the word “love,” pairing it with feelings. The world teaches, “if it feels good, it must be love. If it doesn’t feel good, it can’t be love.” We know, however, that what is lovemany things which feel good are actually very bad for you, beginning with drugs and alcohol, but encompassing everything which gives you an adrenalin or endorphin rush. Many are ok in moderation, but nothing is good for you to the extreme. Even exercise, taken to the extreme, takes a heavy and permanent toll on your body. Walks or even light runs, fine. Running 10 miles a day, however, is very bad for you, long-term. Even relationships, types of work, and other endeavors can be bad for you if taken to the extreme, and many things which feel good are bad for you in any amount.

Thus, the world is wrong.  And because the world is wrong, those of who who know the true meaning of love must counter it with truth, in love.  Doing so may hurt, but it’s still love.  It won’t accept falsehood, but it’s still love.  It won’t tolerate sinful behavior, but it’s still love.  It won’t tolerate false doctrine, but it’s still love.  It will rebuke those who have erred, and will expose those who are leading others astray.

So, what is love?  Is that all there is to love, rebuking and countering wrong?  Of course not.  It’s also all about reaffirming that which is righteous and good in the eyes of God.  It’s about affirming people, what is lovebuilding them up in love.  Both understanding and accomplishing this, however, requires wisdom.

God and his one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, were right all along, and they have graciously imparted their wisdom in a book we refer to as the Holy Word of God, or more commonly, the Bible. Therein you’ll find the keys to all manner of success, happiness, and joy.

When we choose Christ, we choose God, his righteousness, and love.
